CodiumAI becomes Qodo: Gen, Merge, and the code-integrity framing
September 2024 rename from Codium/CodiumAI to Qodo, with Qodo Merge (ex PR-Agent) as the review/automation product.
The rebrand post is the clean lineage marker: CodiumAI → Qodo, Codiumate → Qodo Gen, PR-Agent → Qodo Merge. The company thesis shifts from “test generation” to “code integrity across the SDLC,” with review as a first-class surface.
Why it matters for code review
Open-source PR-Agent DNA still shows up in how Qodo talks about merge automations. If you used PR-Agent in 2023–24, this is the commercial continuation path—and the rename date for citation hygiene.
