Graphite: AI review for the outer loop
Graphite positions Diamond/Agent as accessible AI PR review paired with stacking, merge queue, and inbox—keeping the post-write toolchain as fast as generation.
Graphite’s “outer loop” framing: as AI speeds writing, review/test/merge/deploy become the bottleneck. Diamond (later folded into Graphite Agent) ships as a standalone AI reviewer—custom rules, contextual feedback, one-click suggested fixes—usable without buying the whole Graphite suite, free up to a monthly PR cap.
The strategic claim is toolchain completeness: AI review plus stacked PRs, merge queue, CI optimizations, and unified inbox. Generation without an outer-loop system just moves the queue.
Note the branding sunset: Diamond name deprecated Oct 2025 in favor of Graphite Agent—same capability class.
